Getting Started
  • First, visit “The Kitchen Place” showroom. There you will have the opportunity to meet with your designer, walk through full size kitchen displays, and see products and ideas that range from traditional to the most current trends.
  • At the showroom, the designer will want to learn more about your needs. You’ll talk about the way you like to use your kitchen for cooking and entertaining, and you’ll set a realistic budget range that you are comfortable with. Working together with your designer, you will make some tentative selections in wood species, door style, door finish and counter top materials.
  • Next, you’ll schedule a visit to your home. A detailed "Free Planning Guide" will be filled out at this time with site measurements and information about your decorating style. It’s important that we develop a comprehensive “Wish List” now so the features and items you want are integrated into the design instead of added on afterwards. This helps us design and build the perfect kitchen for your needs – while still meeting your budget expectations. You may download the designsurvey.pdf to help you get started
  • After your designer has completed the design, you’ll return to the showroom for a complete multi-media presentation and see first hand what “The Kitchen Place” can do for you. You’ll see a design created especially for you, with top views, side views and 3-D perspectives of your new kitchen.
  • Make any final adjustments to your design and confirm your earlier choices. Your designer may also suggest accent colours and styles for decorating the kitchen and adjacent rooms.
  • Determine how much of the work you wish to do yourself. “The Kitchen Place” would like to coordinate your whole project but we will do as little work, or as much, as you want. We can deliver a full “turn-key product completely installed and ready for your enjoyment, or simply provide you with new cabinets, or anything in between – the choice is yours.
  • “The Kitchen Place” will provide you with a written contract that details your costs and what work, products and materials you will receive. The contract even includes a “hold-back”. You don’t pay fully until you are fully satisfied. There are no surprises when you work with “The Kitchen Place”.“The Kitchen Place” has been in business for 38 years in Oshawa and we are committed to making you a satisfied customer.
