From the moment we walked in the door and were greeted at The Kitchen Place, I knew we found the right place. Our designer Sue was fabulous, she did a floor plan that works amazing and I never would have thought of on my own. She took all of our calls and questions and even helped when I requested a small change mid-install. Sue was there constantly to check on things and make sure everything ran smoothly. Sue gave us a schedule of what would be done each day and what trades would be coming in. The schedule did not waiver and every trade was on time and very personable. One of the most important things - the quoted price was the exact price we paid. We were never hit with extra's. We love our kitchen and would send anyone who asked to The Kitchen Place! read less

The team worked with us, and our busy schedule, to have the job completed on a fair time line and for good value. We worked with Jacquelyn in the show room to choose our tile/grouting. We were able to easily bring our concept to life based on the inspiration photos we provided. Jacquelyn was thorough, as she dropped in a few times while the job was being completed, to make sure we were 100% satisfied. She was quick to respond to any questions or concerns we may have had throughout the process. Dave and Brian (the father son duo) came in to remove and replace our light valance on our cabinets before and after the work was done. They were both kind and professional, and went the extra mile to make sure our valance was perfect when being reinstalled. James and Liam did an amazing job on the tile work itself. They had to make a lot of complicated cuts to accommodate our kitchen layout, but they made it look seamless. We were happy that they were able to cut the tiles around our crown moulding, rather than having to make cuts in the moulding itself. They were both professional and thorough and kept our kitchen clean throughout the process. Overall our experience with The Kitchen Place was beyond our expectations. Buying local meant a lot and choosing the Kitchen Place was the right decision. From the start Barb listened to our needs, our choice of materials and came up with a design layout that transformed our house to a modern home that we will enjoy for years to come. All of this was made possible by owners Brian and David who along with their team of professional sub contractors Chris, Jamie and Toma treated our home as if it was theirs. From day one everyone worked together to ensure that the construction that had to be completed would not result in future surprises that could increase the cost. All permits were handled by Barb and her team and the inspections were passed with ease. Thank you Barb for all your help and hard work. We were extremely satisfied with the final product then and are still happy 8 years later. His team worked with us to ensure we got a Kitchen that we love cooking in to this day. Any hiccups along the way to completion were addressed to our complete satisfaction and his staff was always pleasant and accommodating. However, I am writing this review 8 years later to highlight the exemplary follow-up service we have received. Over the intervening years a few issues have come up, such as a sticky drawer slide, malfunctioning hinges and even a broken cupboard door (my fault). Brian has been quick to respond and has even come to the house to do the repair himself at no charge. Most recently, a stripped thread on a cupboard door handle was solved with a five minute visit. Brian and The Kitchen Place take customer satisfaction seriously and don't put an expiry date on it. read less

We immediately met the Binns family and felt very comfortable expressing our wants and needs of a kitchen reno. Dave was very professional and did not pressure us to spend more than we had or change our final decisions. He mentioned ideas we had not thought of and we love them ... two lazy susans under the counter, a offee station, garbage/recycling drawer and more. The tradesmen followed covid safety protocols, worked efficiently and cleaned up befor they left. The Binn's family was always readily available to answer our silly questions, drop in on their way back to the office to check in on things, keep the process fun and with no stress .... I was exhausted from 2 years of ongoing renovations to our former house in Toronto, plus a two-stage move from there into a storage facility before we finally settled into our new home.
It is a solid, beautifully proportioned home but it had dated materials, like worn, orange-shellacked hardwood floors, and dark wood kitchen cabinets, mounted way too high over a melamine countertop. Worse though, was the dysfunctional layout, with an oven jammed right into the corner and above the stairs, risking a backwards somersault down the stairs if you ever lost your balance pulling a roast out of that oven.
It was a total gut job. We needed a total transformation. And no way was I going to deal with it all, not after endless projects in the old place. We wanted a full-service company to manage it all: design, materials sourcing, gutting it, and construction of a completely new, high-end kitchen. So we called the Kitchen Place in Oshawa.
Barb and her team completely transformed our dated old 50s kitchen into an elegant, sleek, contemporary chefs kitchen that we are absolutely thrilled to use and savour every day.
The whole process was an ongoing pleasure both to participate in and to watch unfold, as all the pieces came together over the reno.
It was hugely satisfying when we sat in Kitchen Place's extensive showroom, choosing from collection after collection of materials, finishes, and design options. Lotsa fun, lots and lots of choices. Barb is a supremely talented designer with an easygoing manner and she guided us through the whole design stage to orchestrate a concept around our tastes and lifestyle that felt just right, no compromises.
Her team of professionals brought the CAD renderings she created to life, stage by stage. She works with some meticulous, hardworking talent, from tear-out specialists (cabinets were removed, not sledgehammered, and then donated to charity) to plumbers and electricians, (who installed sink and services precisely as specd, and who built up multiple layers of subtle lighting within the space) to a masterful assembly craftsman who orchestrated an astonishing array of components with precision.
At the end of it all, we got a true dream kitchen, worthy of my wifes very considerable chef talents, and a look and feel that we both savour and enjoy every time we are in there.
If ever there was a time to go with a full-service company to stick-handle a complex kitchen project through the madness that is Covid, its now. Especially in the crazy Covid times we live in, this company knows how to get it done right. Top drawer, highly recommended. read less

I contacted several companies and they either couldn't do everything we wanted or they quoted way too much. I contacted David from Kitchen Place. He was very prompt to respond. He came up with some great design ideas based on our photos and measurements, and helped us choose our cabinets and materials. In the end it was exactly what we wanted. It looks amazing! During the installation, David's team were very friendly and worked non-stop. They cleaned up every day which made living through a renovation much easier. If there were any issues he communicated it with us and would provide alternate options. The Kitchen Place is a one stop place for custom renovations! I highly recommend and would hire them again. read less

We went back to the Kitchen Place hoping they could answer some questions and we were pleasantly pleased with help and results we received. Big thanks to the team for pulling it together, you matched the paint colour perfectly and nailed the lighting system that allowed for a 1” trim. We are over the moon with outcome. I’ve attached pics showing the lights held in place neatly by adhesive 4” cable ties whIch I put up myself. It was easy, just make sure you sand the surface first. We are truly happy 😊 read less

I was given several design options to choose from, my wish list of what I needed in a kitchen was taken into consideration and all my needs were met. Every contractor who worked on our project was courteous, on time and knew exactly what needed to be done. Very functional design. Difference from the original design for a couple of reasons. The engineer had changes that need to be made as well. The schedule won't mean anything when the city holds on to the permit longer then intended. Some homes won't let you have the kitchen you want. When signing the contract, be clear on who will be installing what items. Watch the dollar on the market because this can impact the cost you will have to pay. All the contractors that worked here were amazing and fantastic to deal with. Renovations are very painful and they did try to make it as smooth as possible.
